YOKOHAMA AT 2006 L.A. AUTO SHOW
|01.2006 YOKOHAMA AT 2006 L.A. AUTO SHOW
FULLERTON, Calif. (Jan. 19, 2006) YOKOHAMA was the “Official Tire” 2006 L.A. Auto Show of which attracted more than one million consumers from all walks of life, age, interests.
An object for revelment was Yokohama’s Murano SUV Project Car fitted with 23-inch Parada Spec X tires. Parada Spec X is Yokohama’s inch-up fitment for today’s heavier vehicles boasting 20” to 24” in sizes. It carries the aggressive looks consumers crave without sacrificing the uncompromising performance Yokohama has come to be known for.
For the high-end car enthusiast, the 550-hp, 198 mph Bentley Continental GT Mullliner riding on ADVAN Sport drew much of the traffic. ADVAN Sport is the flagship of the ADVAN tire series with ultra-high-speed capabilities that match the capabilities of the supercars from around the globe. In addition to being the Original Tire Equipment to the Bentley Continental GT, the ADVAN is also Original Equipment to the Bentley Flying Spur, Porsche 997 Carrera 4, and the Lotus Elise Sport Package (ADVAN Neova).
Finally, for the race-bent consumers the Yokohama-sponsored JEVC (Japanese Electric Vehicle Club) battery-powered Formula Race Car was a treat. Emitting no emissions at all while logging on about 3 hours of high performance on the track, the JEVC Formula Race Car is the perfect union between Yokohama’s rich motorsports heritage and strong commitment to environmental soundness.
Overall, Yokohama tires appeared on 37 different vehicles in the L.A. Auto Show (January 6-15). The Project Murano SUV, Continental GT Mulliner, and JEVC Formula Race Car all appeared in Yokohama’s own 100- foot long display booth, positioned just before the main entrance to the area that showcased Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, Infiniti, Volvo, Jeep, Honda, Lincoln-Mercury, and Ford.
