05.2016  Two class wins and two third places for Kumho-tyred vehicles after a turbulent starting phase with chaotic weather conditions at the 44th ADAC Zurich 24h race on the Nurburgring.
News - tires and alloy wheels Sunshine, blue skies and warm temperatures- the beautiful day at the 44th edition of the 24-hour race on the Nurburgring was over just before the first hour. Then the heavens opened its doors. Deluge-like rains and hailstorm made the track impassable. In the area Schwedenkreuz/ Aremberg it rained so hard that many cars was drifting helplessly toward guardrail because of aquaplaning. This was followed by the red flag – the race had to be interrupted for three hours. To 7 pm, the race was restarted behind the safety car, and only towards 8 pm it started again. At the end of a long and exhausting night with Kumho-tyred teams could claim two class wins (classes V5 and V3T) and two third places (classes V2T and AT) at the 24h Race 2016 on the legendary Nurburgring Nordschleife.

“Today was a good day for Kumho. Already in the training sessions of the 24 hour race our Ecsta tyre of the latest generation convinced. The weather conditions during the training were challenging, even more difficult and complicated the situation was afterwards in the race. Therefore, the top rankings of our teams are estimate even higher. My congratulations to the drivers. Well done,” commented Manfred Theisen from Kumho Motorsport Europe after the race.
